MY LOVE LETTER TO THE OCEAN

The Ocean, My Friend

I write to you on this day because although we have known each other for a long time and we have been best friends ever since I had never given a proper thought to what our relationship meant to me.

Before today, you were a constant reminder of God's wonder and mighty due to your vastness and fierceness as you stretch beyond what our eyes can possibly see. I have always wondered how it feels to be you. Your beauty and your wrath are perfectly balanced by nature, it is poetic.

But today, as I was listening to your soothing sounds complimented by pretty bird sounds and the beautiful sound made by the wind as it presses against the palm leaves, I have really considered what you mean to me and how you make me feel. I have also realized that I have come to you more times than I have ever gone to anyone whenever I am in trouble or struggling through life.

At the lowest points in my life, you have been there for me and gave me comfort when I needed it the most. You never judged me or even criticize me for my poor judgments but only made sure that I know that I am going to be okay.

You always remind me that nothing on Earth is permanent even Earth herself and that the different seasons in life are perfectly crafted to help us stay in balance. You wouldn't want rain all year, neither the sun. Would you? You also remind me of our creator because on your best days you can be beautiful and loving but on your worst days you can be violent and even deadly. It is all in the details, you say.

You also help me to slow down. With everything that goes on in my life as well as anyone's life, sometimes we get carried away and forget the important stuff. The soul of things, the reason we do what we do. The purpose for our existence. The way you do this, I am yet to comprehend but I am constantly amazed but how good you are.

You remind me that the best things in life are free and that life should be lived not wasted. I can consistently count on your reliability and that is a special kind of relationship to have.

I hope to see you next time and tell you everything that has been happening in my life. But if I don't come to see you as often as I am used to, just know that my love for you has and will never change. You are my best friend. THE END

Afterthought: And when my time on this world is over, my soul will finally be freed and be able to spend full time with you and learn from your wisdom gained through ages. And then, only then, by your side, my soul will rest in peace.
